1. About us and how to contact us
This website is operated by Buxton Roastery Ltd, a company registered in England & Wales (company number 10474520). Our full details are set out at the end of these terms. You can reach us at info@buxtonroastery.co.uk or on 01298 78155.
2. Who can order
By placing an order you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and are ordering as a consumer for your own use. We currently sell and deliver only within the United Kingdom.
3. Our products
- Our coffee is a fresh food product, roasted to order. Images are for illustration only, and the appearance of beans, grind and packaging may vary between batches.
- Roasting and packing tolerances mean the weight of a bag may vary by up to 2% from the stated weight.
- Every bag is marked with a roast or best-before date. For the best cup we recommend enjoying your coffee within the period shown on the pack.
4. Placing an order
Your order is an offer to buy from us. A contract is formed only when we send you an email confirming that your order has been accepted and is being prepared for dispatch. If we cannot accept your order (for example, because an item is unavailable or we cannot authorise payment) we will let you know and will not charge you.
5. Prices and payment
- Prices are shown in pounds sterling and include VAT where applicable. We review prices regularly and the price you pay is the price displayed at the time you place your order.
- We accept debit and credit cards (processed securely by Stripe) and PayPal. We do not see or store your full card details.
- Payment is taken at the point your order is placed or dispatched, as indicated at checkout.
6. Delivery
- We roast to order and aim to dispatch within 2 working days.
- UK delivery is free on orders over £30. Orders below that value are charged the delivery rate shown at checkout.
- Delivery times given at checkout are estimates. We are not responsible for delays caused by the carrier or by events outside our reasonable control, but we will always help you resolve a problem with a delayed or missing parcel.
- Risk in the goods passes to you when they are delivered to the address you gave us.
7. Returns, cancellations and refunds
Our coffee is a perishable food product. For reasons of food safety and hygiene we are unable to accept returns or exchanges of coffee once it has been dispatched, and the normal 14-day “cooling-off” right to cancel does not apply to perishable or sealed food goods (Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013).
Your rights if something is wrong
This does not affect your statutory rights. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 your coffee must be of satisfactory quality, as described and fit for purpose. If your order arrives faulty, damaged, incorrect or not as described, please contact us at info@buxtonroastery.co.uk within 30 days of delivery, ideally with a photo. We will put it right with a replacement or a full refund, including any delivery charge you paid. You do not need to return the affected coffee unless we ask you to, and we will cover the cost of any return we request.
Orders we haven’t dispatched yet
If you need to change or cancel an order, contact us as soon as possible. If we have not yet started roasting or dispatched your order we will do our best to amend or cancel it and refund you in full.
8. Subscriptions
If you take out a coffee subscription, we will roast and dispatch coffee to you at the frequency you choose and take payment before each delivery. You can pause, skip, amend or cancel your subscription at any time from your account, up to the cut-off shown before your next roast date. Cancelling stops future deliveries; it does not refund a delivery that has already been roasted or dispatched.
9. Our liability
We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not liable for losses that are not foreseeable, or for loss arising from use of our products in a business. Nothing in these terms limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
10. Your information
We handle your personal data in line with our Privacy Policy and our use of cookies is explained in our Cookie Policy.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your order is the one published on this website when you place it. This page shows when it was last updated.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes may be brought in the courts of England and Wales (or, if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, the courts there).
